Kris Ringman is a deaf queer author, artist, and wanderer. She writes multi-cultural lyrical fiction and poetry inspired by her persistent wanderings to far off places and the magical inspiration she gets from nature. They are the author of two Lambda Literary Finalist books: I Stole You: stories from the fae (Handtype Press, 2017) and Makara: a novel (Handtype Press, 2012), which was also nominated for a Pushcart Prize, and the editor of Everyday Haiku: an anthology (Wandering Muse Press). She received her MFA from Goddard College and has attended the Gullkistan Residency for Creative People in Iceland and three A Room of her Own (AROHO) Women’s Writing Retreats at Ghost Ranch.
She’s currently working on a historical fantasy series about a deaf Viking seer, a poetry collection, and literary upmarket fiction novels that play along the boundaries of magical realism, fantasy, and horror.
